 Kerala
is largely a very traditional area with
a glorious history and culture influencing
the day to day activities. There are a lot
of traditional festivals celebrated here,
which is typical of the state. Festivals
like Onam and other festivals connected
to places of worship of the various religions
create a lot of excitement among the people.
Kerala has a tradition of promoting a lot
of art forms. Frequent cultural events showcasing
the traditional classical art forms like
Kathakali, Mohiniattom, and Bharatanatyam
along with classical and folk music The
traditional influence in Kerala is visible
on the very onset by way of the attire which
consists of a two piece Saree made of pure
cotton called the Mundu and neriyathu which
is still widely used by women . Likewise
each community has their own traditional
outfits which are worn during important
occasions.
The architecture of the place also follows
a traditional pattern though it is changing
now due to increase in population and is
making way for flats and apartments. Traditionally
Kerala population has been great lovers
of sports specially football and athletics.
This can be best seen in the fact that there
are a lot of sports persons in the state
who have represented the country in the
national level.
