Kerala is blessed with
a varied topography. It has several beaches,
lakes, rivers and so on and also hilly areas.
The western hats in Kerala account for a
large number of hill stations here which
exquisite in beauty Some of the popular
hill stations here include the following

Chembra Peak - It is located at a distance
of 14 km west of Kalpeta. The significance
of Chenbra is that it is the highest peak
in Wayanad and lot of trekking activities
can be undertaken. Chithirapuram
Devikulam- Devikulam is located 7 kms from
Munnar. An important picnic site here is
the Sita Devi lake which has mineral waters
and a picturesque surroundings The lake
is also ideal for trout fishing.
Idukki- It is a landlocked district which
has three main rivers running namely periyar,
thalayar and thodupuzhayar- and their tributaries.
The river pamba also has its origin here.
The hill stations here are great in terms
of beauty and adventure. It is one of the
richest places of natural resources and
hence has a variety of exclusive trees and
plants..
Lakkidi - Lakkidi is considered as the gateway
to Wayanad, is situated 700 m above mean
sea level. The hill station is very beautiful
with its winding roads and beautiful vegetation.
Mattupetty- Mattupetty is famous for its
highly specialized dairy farm, the Indo-Swiss
live stock project. It is located in Idukki.
Munnar. The nearest airport is Kochi and
railway station is Kottayam.
