
Cochin
or Kochi is part of the Ernakulam district.
For all practical purposes Ernakulam and
Kochi are referred to be same. Kochi which
is a prominent city of Kerala is often referred
to as the Queen of the Arabian Sea and also
as the Gateway to Kerala. Traditionally
Kochi has been great in trade and commerce
within India and also other countries. Cochin

Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town, Mattancherry-
This is an important monument of the Dutch.
This synagogue was built in 1568. It’s
a beautifully decorated place. That is located
near the Dutch palace in Mattancherry.
Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace), Mattancherry-
The Dutch Palace was originally built by
the Portuguese which was later modified
and gifted to the Raja of Kochi. The importance
of this place is that the coronation of
many Rajas of Kochi took place here ..
Bolghatty Palace, Bolghatty Island
The Bolghatty Palace is a Dutch palace situated
on Bolghatty Island. There are frequent
boat rides to this island which is at a
very short distance from the mainland.
Hill Palace, Tripunithura
This is a beautiful palace located at a
small distance for the main Kochi town
The Marine Drive which is the backwaters
of Kochi and the man made Island called
Willington Island are a must visit
during Cochin Travel.
One of the important features that highlights
Kochi Tourism is the easy accessibility

an international airport which connects
the city to all the important cities of
the country .There are three major railway
stations as well which are Ernakulam Junction
(main station), Ernakulam Town and Cochin
